When considering any new advertising, the costs are always a primary concern. One of the biggest barriers to entry with Facebook advertising is the inaccessibility of Facebook staff. If your budget is over $25,000/mo Facebook will work with you directly. Click here to contact Facebook through their ad program. If you clicked that link, and selected a budget of <$10000 or 10k-25k you’ll find that Facebook suggests you use the self service ad center. Global Market Exposure specializes in helping clients who would like to receive the benefit of social media marketing on Facebook, without spending $25,000 per month.
Facebook Advertising Costs
From the Facebook Help Documentation
There are costs associated with Facebook Ads. You can estimate the cost as you create your ads. If you’d like to see what we recommend you bid for each click (CPC) or thousand impressions (CPM), just enter your targeting criteria and go through to the last step of ad creation (you won’t have to enter any payment information until the next step, so you can do this without purchasing an ad). The “bid estimator” will show you the range of bids that are currently winning the auction among ads similar to yours.
When you run your ad you will only be charged for the number of clicks you receive (CPC) or the number of impressions of your ad that are displayed (CPM). The amount that you are charged will never exceed your daily budget. There are no additional fees for running Facebook Ads.
Facebook Advertising Strategies
Should you use CPM or CPC. How does click through rate affect per click costs? What kinds of ads are successful? Can I target my ads by age, gender, interest workplace? If those are the kinds of questions you’re asking yourself there are three real options. Spend $100,000 over 90 days and get some help from Facebook, Sign up for the self service ad program and learn by spending your own money, or hire someone who has already spent tens of thousands of dollars on Facebook Advertising to handle it for you.

Hi Guys
I am afraid that the Emperor has no clothes.
I have a new unique product that suits Facebook advertising.
But I do not have $25,000 per month budget or $1,000 even.
Facebook recommends that I bid between 90 cents and $1.20 per click !
That is madness!
I imagine that I would need about 40 or 50 hits to get one sale.
So that is $40 or $50 per sale.
Not many products can justify that sort of money.
So as a potential advertiser I think that a viable click rate may be around 5 cents. But of course at that rate advertising companies and Facebook are not interested.
Any comments

Thanks for the comment.
Successful Facebook Advertisers don’t pay the suggested maximum cost per click. No matter what you bid, your CPC is tied to your click through rate. Most advertisers get frustrated and quit rather than split test ads, and narrow the audience until his ads are irresistible.
As far as nickle clicks, the holy grail of internet advertising, the targeted potential customer, on your site, for only five cents. It’s possible, I’m not going to tell you and the rest of the internet how for free at this point, but there are nickle clicks to be had on Facebook, yes.
If you utilize FBML landing pages, capitalize on the fact that people who “Like” your business on Facebook will see your updates in their news feed, and create incentives for viral action, Facebook can become a source of loyal, motivated, specifically targeted customers.
You said your budget is less than $1000/mo so unfortunately, it seems you don’t have the resources to hire us to properly execute the campaign for you, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t teach yourself. Since only a small percentage of businesses are moving forward with developing effective ways to get customers from Facebook, with a little creativity and initiative, you could develop an effective campaign. Capitalizing on the opportunity of Facebook advertising requires both significant investment and in house commitment to the success of the campaign.
Facebook has placed several stumbling blocks in the way of those who are easily frustrated, and much of the FB Advertising interface is confusing and poorly laid out. Additionally Facebook is famous for it’s complete lack of anything resembling customer service. If you’d prefer hourly consultation to full service marketing services, feel free to call our customer service line to schedule a Facebook or SEO consultation.
Best,
